A man found dead at his house in Manchester died from blunt force head trauma and multiple stab wounds, a post-mortem examination has revealed.

Robert Jackson, 41, was found with his daughter Ayeshea, 13, in Delta Walk, Moston, at 22:20 BST on Sunday.

A 34-year-old man suspected of killing him, believed to be Darren Gasper, died at about 01:00 after crashing a hijacked car into a pub, police said.

Post-mortem tests revealed he died from a stab wound to the chest.

Police believe the car was stolen at knifepoint at Watfield Walk in Harpurhey.

It was driven into the side of The Alliance pub in Rochdale Road as police approached.

Mr Gasper was taken to hospital suffering from a stab wound and injuries consistent with a collision but died a short time later.

A knife was recovered at the scene of the crash, police said.

The teenage girl remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition with what are believed to be stab wounds.
