Swiss trains in head-on collision in Granges-pres-Marnand Swiss train crash: Dozens hurt in Granges-pres-Marnand
(34 minutes later)
Two trains have collided head-on in western Switzerland, leaving a number of people injured, police say. At least 40 people have been injured, four of them seriously, in a collision between two trains in western Switzerland.
Emergency services were at the scene of the collision, which occurred in Granges-pres-Marnand, state police spokesman Jean-Christophe Sauterel said. The crash happened in Granges-pres-Marnand, about 50km (30 miles) south-west of the capital, Bern.
Media reports say up to 30 people may have been injured, but there have been no reports of deaths in the crash. Reports say the regional trains collided head-on in the early evening.
The town is about 50km (30 miles) south-west of the capital, Berne. Public TV station SRF quoted Vaud canton police spokesman Pierre-Olivier Gaudard as saying that one person had yet to be recovered from the wreckage.
The incident took place in the early evening, according to Swiss media reports. Earlier this month, 79 people were killed in a high-speed derailment in north-western Spain.
A photo of the incident on the online Swiss paper, 24 Heures, shows the wreckage of a mangled train carriage. Send your pictures and videos to yourpics@bbc.co.uk or text them to 61124 (UK) or +44 7624 800 100 (International). If you have a large file you can upload here.
