A motorist believed to be in his 70s has died after an argument in a Birmingham car park.

The man was taken to hospital when he collapsed in the Tyseley Community Centre car park, in Sparkhill's Formans Road, just before 14:00 BST on Sunday.

A 44-year-old man arrested at the scene is being questioned by police.

Det Insp Warren Hines said he understood there had been a "verbal altercation" but said he did not know what started the row.

"It's not yet clear what sparked the argument or whether there was any physical contact between the men," he said.

"One of the drivers, a man believed to be in his 70s, collapsed at the scene and sadly was pronounced dead later in hospital.

"I'm keen to speak to anyone who was in the park at the time or around Tyseley Community Centre and may have heard the argument or witnessed what prompted it."
