It's the one everyone's been waiting for: Batman and Superman are to clash, not on paper but in the next Man of Steel movie. No, it's not over the affections of Robin. Beyond that we can only speculate, since Warner Bros is keeping its cards very close to its cape on this one. It's obvious that the two have no serious differences of moral principle, and their fashion sense is also very close. True, Superman has the sunnier disposition, while Batman is more of a brooder. Town planning must be another possible conflict area, with Bruce Wayne's Gotham a much darker place than Clark Kent's Metropolis. Yet neither would seem sufficient cause for a row on the scale expected between these twin enemies of evil. It may be jealousy, for the harsh truth is that Batman has no special powers, only a host of daft devices, now a little aged. Some suppose Kryptonite will play a part. The better guide may be the studio's plans for the movie after Man of Steel 2.It's the one everyone's been waiting for: Batman and Superman are to clash, not on paper but in the next Man of Steel movie.
