A cyclist has died after a collision with an ambulance in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh. | |
The crash happened in the Castlecoole area, on the A4 Dublin Road at about 01:10 BST on Tuesday. The man died at the scene from his injuries. | |
The ambulance crew was transporting a patient to the South West Acute Hospital at the time of the collision. | |
As a result, more NIAS staff were sent to the scene to treat both the patient and the injured cyclist. | |
A spokesman for the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) said its staff would continue to co-operate with the police investigation into the crash. | |
"The thoughts of all within NIAS are with the family of the deceased and we would like to offer our sincerest condolences. | |
"We will also seek to support the crew involved in this harrowing incident," the spokesman said. | |
