A County Armagh woman who hoped to inherit her husband's money after she murdered him will not receive anything, a judge has ruled.

Jacqueline Crymble, 35, and her lover Roger Ferguson, 31, killed her husband, Paul, three years ago at their home outside Richhill.

Mr Justice McLaughlin told Belfast Crown Court that the money would be put in trust for their son and daughter.

Crymble, jailed for life, is awaiting her appeal against the conviction.

"Clearly the policy of the law is to ensure that a perpetrator should not benefit from the death of his or her victim," said Mr Justice McLaughlin.

Mr Crymble, a father-of-two, was discovered with a plastic bag taped tightly round his neck, and his feet and hands bound with cable ties on 20 June 2004.

His wife had claimed four masked men broke into the family home looking for drugs and money before attacking and kidnapping her 35-year-old husband.

During the trial, a jury heard four months of evidence but took just under three-and-a half hours to reach its verdict.
