Mr Buck was protecting Francis Cory-Wright, who indecently assaulted a 10-year-old boy in the 1970s. Police said he died while intervening in a robbery at the home of Francis Cory-Wright.

Detectives stressed Mr Buck and Mr Cory-Wright were neighbours and "not connected in any other way". The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) said it would not comment on individual cases but was "supporting" police with the investigation.
Mr Cory-Wright, who is in his late 80s, was jailed for 30 months in 2011 for assaulting the boy. Det Ch Supt Jeff Hill said Mr Buck had received "fatal stab wounds" and police were treating the death as murder.
The former Lloyds underwriter is currently being treated in hospital for injuries he sustained during the attack. "Mr Buck's actions were totally selfless and illustrate a deep sense of community spirit which deserves recognition and respect," he said.
It is understood Mr Cory-Wright and McLoughlin know each other from prison. He added that McLoughlin "may well have left the country".
'Gone through a lot' "Following the incident on Saturday the suspect caught a taxi to Watford and he was dropped off somewhere near the Horn Pub in Hempstead Road," he said.
A police spokeswoman said: "It is believed that the victim has been murdered after coming to the aid of a neighbour." "We also have potential reports of a sighting yesterday afternoon at around 14:30 in Bedmond, Hertfordshire."
Det Ch Insp Martin Brunning, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire major crime unit, said: "We are continuing to treat the death as murder. McLoughlin is described as white, about 6ft (1.8m) tall, with straight, greying, collar-length hair and of average build.

'Truly genuine'
Mr Buck was born in London and lived in Surrey and Sussex before moving to Hertfordshire in 1995.
His wife, Karen, said she had lost her "rock".
"I don't know what I'll do without him," she said.
Mr Buck, who was described by his family as a "truly genuine person" had two sons, a daughter and two grandchildren.

Dave Watson, a local landscape gardener, said Mr Cory-Wright had "gone through a lot in his life".
"I think Graham had been a good neighbour to Francis and was looking out for him like a lot of people would do around here," he said.
Extra patrols are being carried out in the area surrounding the murder scene.
Before Mr Cory-Wright was imprisoned, St Albans Crown Court was told the abuse had taken place over a summer when he took the boy into the countryside to go shooting and fishing.
