Charges are being considered against three men in connection with one of Scotland's biggest paedophile cases.

A report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal alleging the trio were members of an Edinburgh gang.

One of the two victims, Dana Fowley, 27, waived her right to anonymity in a previous trial to help convict three other people, including her mother.

The Crown Office is considering whether to proceed with the prosecution of the men, who are aged 42, 52 and 71.

A Crown Office spokeswoman said: "We have received a report from the police in relation to three men aged, 42, 52 and 71. That report remains under consideration."

A police spokesman said: "A report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal."

Ms Fowley's mother, Caroline Dunsmore, is serving 12 years for her role, while Morris Petch, 50, received a life sentence with a minimum of 12 years in jail and John O'Flaherty, 50, was given a 13-year term.
