Police are due to interview the owners of a dog which "decapitated" another smaller dog in front of young children in Warrington. The owners of a Staffordshire Bull Terrier which "decapitated" another smaller dog in Warrington face a court appearance over the attack.

Officers confirmed the dog was a Staffordshire Bull Terrier and the pet remains in police kennels. Police confirmed the owners voluntarily attended a police interview earlier. They will be now be summoned to attend court at a later date, police said.
Police said next steps will now depend on the interview with the owners. The dog remains in kennels, with inquiries into the incident continuing.
'Horrendous attack' Cheshire Police said: "A 44-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman have been reported for summons for the offence of owner/person in charge of a dog dangerously out of control in a public place".
A photograph of the bloodied dog owner struggling to control the dog was posted on Twitter by Elvis's owner, Gemma Antell.
Ms Antell, from Warrington, said her dog was "decapitated" during the attack.
She said: "If it was capable of doing that to another dog, then you would have to be afraid of what it could potentially do to a child's arm, or worse."
Police described it as a "horrendous attack" which was "clearly very distressing".
