One of the two Australian radio hosts who made a prank phone call to a London hospital that was treating the Duchess of Cambridge has accused the owner of her radio station of failing to provide a safe working environment.

The DJ’s legal representative, Steven Lewis at law firm Slater & Gordon, confirmed to Guardian Australia that “a general protections application has been filed with Fair Work Australia on behalf of Mel Greig against Southern Cross Austereo. Under the Fair Work Act, the matter will now proceed to a confidential conciliation where both parties can discuss grievances in the presence of a mediator. Greig and co-host Michael Christian broadcast the prank call during their show on radio station 2Day FM.
