A jury hearing the case of a teenage girl who killed her sister with a carving knife has been sent home after the first day of deliberations. A jury has started a second day of deliberations in the case of a teenager accused of murdering her 16-year-old sister with a carving knife.

The mother, who is divorced from their father, separated the two girls.
Then the defendant ran into the kitchen and picked up a knife, retuning to the living room.
She told the jury she was "proper upset and angry".

Her mother told her to put the knife down before looking on horrified "as blood sprayed up the wall".
When the defendant dropped the knife her sister picked it up and stabbed her in the back of the thigh.
Both girls were taken by ambulance to Calderdale Royal Hospital, where the older girl died in the early hours of the morning.
She died of severe internal bleeding after the blade went in beside the shoulder blade, puncturing the lung and causing a 10-12cm deep wound.
