Scotland's newest MSP has been sworn in to her new job.

The SNP's Shirley-Anne Somerville, a former Royal College of Nursing officer, has replaced Stefan Tymkewycz as a list MSP for the Lothians.

Mr Tymkewycz, a former Metropolitan officer, resigned to concentrate on being a city councillor in Edinburgh.

He was elected as councillor in Craigentinny/Duddingston ward at the same time as he won his Lothians list seat in May.
