The suspects, aged between 19 and 29, were arrested in Copenhagen and formed part of a terror cell with links to a senior al-Qaeda figure, police said. Officials gave no details about the alleged plot, but said the two had already acquired explosive material.
They were of Afghan, Pakistani, Somali and Turkish origin and six were Danish citizens, police said. Another six people of immigrant origin were briefly detained during a series of raids in and around Copenhagen, but were released after questioning.
