Version 0 of 1.

The hunt for the mother of a toddler who was found dead at her Oxfordshire home is ongoing.

Searches at the house in Herald Way, Bicester, where the body of 20-month-old Sarah Dahane was found on Thursday morning, have concluded.

A police spokesman said: "The investigation to establish the exact location of Sarah's mother continues."

The woman, who has not been named by police, is believed to have left the UK and travelled to Kenya.

The child's body was found by police after members of her family raised concerns for her well-being.

Detective chief inspector Ian Hunter said: "I would like to thank the residents and community in Glory Farm for their patience and co-operation whilst we have been conducting searches and inquiries.

"We recognise the distress that can be caused as we respond to such sad incidents."

The girl's father, Nabil Dahane, who is separated from her mother, formally identified her.

In a statement released on Friday through police he said: "You have meant the world to me.

"The time spent with you, though has been cut very short, was an absolute joy."

A post-mortem examination carried out on the child's body was inconclusive and further tests are to be carried out to establish a cause of death.
