The 84-year-old was confronted by a man who came to her front door demanding money, before a struggle took place and she fell, hitting her head. She was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary after the incident on Saturday, at about 2200 BST, at her house on Colinton Mains Road. Her attacker fled empty handed and got away in a dark coloured car. The vehicle headed north along Colinton Mains Road, Lothian and Borders Police said. The attacker, who was in his early 20s, may have been one of two men spotted acting suspiciously in the area on the previous day. "The elderly victim of this assault is understandably shaken by the ordeal, and we want to speak to anyone who can help us track down those responsible," said a police spokesman. |
