Peter Tinkler, The Royal Mile Pharmacy owner, told BBC Scotland: "The situation escalated very, very quickly and certainly the perpetrator forcing me to put the key in the door to lock us in was something I hadn't anticipated. | |
"A hostage situation is very, very frightening indeed. It is good news we all got out safely but some were really quite shaken up by the incident. | |
"We had realised that eventually the police would come in and I had said to them that if somebody does come in to get down on the floor. | |
"So when I saw the police come in from behind me we got down on the floor, so we didn't see the Tasering but we heard it. | |
"It was all very, very quick, very efficient." |
