Police van collides with car on 999 call in Dunfermline

A police van responding to an emergency call in Fife has collided with a car in Dunfermline.

Police said their van hit a car driven by a couple, who were aged 82 and 87, which then collided with a wall.

The accident happened just before 15:00 on Halbeath Road at the junction with Lambert Drive.

The couple were taken to hospital in Kirkcaldy as a precaution but their injuries are not thought to be serious. An accident investigation is underway.

The police officer driving the Ford van, which was heading east on Halbeath Road, is shaken but uninjured.
