Man charged over guns discovery

A man has been charged after weapons including a handgun and a rifle were found at a house in south Manchester.

Police officers found the weapons after executing warrants at five addresses in the Wythenshawe area in the early hours of Friday.

Craig Campbell, 20, of Royalthorne Road in Wythenshawe, has been charged with two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon.

He is due to appear at Manchester City Magistrates' Court on Monday.

Four other people arrested in connection with the discoveries have been bailed until 14 December pending further inquiries.
