Barman, 21, denies raping student

A barman has appeared at Belfast Magistrates Court charged with the rape of a 20-year-old woman in the University area of south Belfast.

Conor Magee, 21, from Dunblane Avenue in the city, denies the charge.

Police said they were contacted after the alleged rape on Canterbury street in the early hours of Thursday.

Mr Magee was granted bail under the condition he does not enter Shaftesbury Square and Botanic Avenue and does not contact the woman involved.
