Heathrow Airport was forced to close one of its runways after a plane landed with suspected technical problems.

BAA, which runs the airport, said the runway was shut for about 90 minutes as a precautionary measure while airport staff carried out an inspection.

A spokesman said the sweep was sparked when the pilot of a Royal Brunei plane reported technical difficulties on Friday morning.

The airport remained open and aircraft used the other runway.
