Loyalist's holiday bail change

Gary 'Jock' McKenzie, 25, faces UDA membership charges resulting from a dress rehearsal for a paramilitary show of strength last year in north Belfast. He and a number of others, among them Ihab Shourki, were arrested during a police raid at the Alexandra Bar. A Crown barrister said on he had no objection to McKenzie going on holiday on 3 September. McKenzie was one of a number of people who left north Belfast last August for England following a stand-off with members of the mainstream UDA. He has had his bail conditions altered a number of times in the past, including allowing him to live in exile. |
