Search for missing walker resumes Search teams find body in gully
(about 3 hours later)
A search has resumed for a walker who has been missing on the Isle of Mull on the west coast of Scotland since Tuesday. Search teams looking for a 68-year-old man on the Island of Mull have recovered a body.
The 68-year-old man was reported overdue late in the afternoon in the area around Loch Uisg. The discovery was made just before midday in a gully in the Loch Uisg area.
Four coastguard teams and a mountain rescue team were involved in efforts to find him on Tuesday night. Coastguards, police, the local mountain rescue team and an RAF helicopter were all involved in the search operation, which was launched on Tuesday night.
A spokesman said search teams had recommenced efforts to trace the man at about 0900 BST. The missing man, who was understood to have been holidaying on the island, had failed to turn up at base.
