Danny Baker hits the radio hustings | Danny Baker hits the radio hustings |
(5 months later) | |
Irascible DJ Danny Baker has engaged in a bit of rabble rousing against the "pinheaded weasels" at the BBC ahead of the Sony Radio Academy awards later this month. Sony has introduced a new category, the golden headphones award, where the public vote for their favourite radio presenter. Baker, who unloaded on-air after his BBC London radio show was axed, has turned to Twitter to drum up votes. "Boy, if people went here & voted for me & then I won this it'd be really embarrassing for certain radio controllers. http://www.sonygoldenheadphones.com," he tweeted. If the 360 retweets and 67 "favorites" and counting are any indication of voting habits, Baker's plan could work out very nicely indeed come awards night on 13 May. | Irascible DJ Danny Baker has engaged in a bit of rabble rousing against the "pinheaded weasels" at the BBC ahead of the Sony Radio Academy awards later this month.
