A 32-year-old man has been charged with the murder of Stanley McAuley. A 32-year-old man has appeared at Belfast magistrates court charged with murdering Stanley McAuley in east Belfast at the weekend.

Police were called to the scene shortly after 01:00 BST on Sunday where they found Mr McAuley unconscious. John Edward Hugh Holmes from Edith Street in Belfast appeared in the dock with his right arm in a plaster cast.
The man is expected to appear in court in Belfast on Wednesday. A 20-year-old woman also arrested in connection to the murder remains in custody. He was remanded in custody and is due in court again on 1 May.
His defence lawyer told the judge that he had handed himself in to police and had co-operated fully with the investigation.
