Hundreds of people attended a candlelit vigil in Greater Manchester to remember those who have lost their lives to the HIV virus.

The event on Monday marked the end of the Manchester Pride 2007 festival.

The vigil was the culmination of the 11 day festival featuring a massive street parade through Manchester city centre.

A minute's silence was held in Sackville Park followed by a variety of readings, poems and music based around the theme of remembrance.
