A man has been arrested following the death of a pedestrian on the outskirts of west Belfast, the police have said. A man has been killed in a hit-and-run incident on the outskirts of west Belfast.
The accident happened at about 0500 BST on Monday at the Colin Glen Road near Dunmurry. Twenty-one-year-old Gerard Damien Quinn from the Colin Glen area was knocked down by a car on the Colin Glen Road near Dunmurry.
The area around the scene of the collision at the Colinwell and Ballycolin Roads was closed to traffic after the accident. The accident happened at about 0500 BST on Monday morning.
A PSNI spokesman has confirmed that a man has been arrested and is being questioned about the incident after handing himself into police.
