Gunman disarmed by bar customers

An armed man who attempted to rob a bar had the gun taken from him by staff and customers.

The man, carrying a handgun, entered the bar on the Glen Road in west Belfast at about 1930 BST on Saturday and demanded cash from the till.

Workers and drinkers disarmed the man and handed him over to police.

Police said a man was arrested and was helping with inquiries. Detectives want anyone with information about the incident to get in touch.
