"Firefighters are still working hard at the scene to try and bring the blaze under control. The fire started a few minutes before 12:30 GMT and 30 people were evacuated from inside the building, which houses Newington Library.
"We now have water jets attacking the fire from the four corners of the building. LFB station manager Peter Critchell said flames were coming through the roof and there was thick grey smoke billowing up.
