The military-backed government in Bangladesh says it has temporarily lifted a curfew it imposed to quell clashes between police and students. Bangladesh's military-backed government has re-imposed a curfew aimed at quelling three days of rioting in which one person was killed and 30 injured.
The curfew, which was introduced on Wednesday, was being relaxed for three hours from 1600 local time (1000 GMT). The curfew, first imposed on Wednesday, had been lifted for three hours to allow people to buy essential supplies.
Earlier the capital, Dhaka, and other cities were reported to be quiet after three days of violent clashes. Correspondents say the government clearly believes there is still a danger of further unrest.
