Five-year-old Kate Almond's hair was 70cm (27ins) long and had never been cut – but she decided to have it snipped off for Comic Relief. She raised £100 from classmates in Wales and the hair was sent to the Little Princess Trust. Her mother, Nicola Beaumont, 44, said: "I'm so proud of her. I'm quite emotional but she isn't fazed at all.
