An Israeli aircraft has attacked a group of Palestinians in Gaza, killing one and wounding three others.

The militant group, Hamas, said the dead man was one of its military commanders, Yehia Habib.

Israeli forces said the men were attacked after they approached the border fence with Israel.

On Tuesday, Israeli troops killed two Palestinian teenagers close to an area from which rockets had been fired over the border at Israel.

Three rockets were fired at Sderot, a town which has come under frequent attack, one of which hit a deserted kindergarten.

According to Palestinian medical officials, the 13 and 14-year-old boys who were killed had been in the area from which the rockets were fired.

Earlier on Tuesday, three men from Islamic Jihad had been killed by the Israeli army closer to the border with Israel.

An army spokesman said that the three were targeted after being identified as gunmen, approaching a border post.

On Monday, six Hamas militants were killed by an Israeli air strike.
