Man denies murdering uni student

A man has denied murdering a student who was found dead at a university halls of residence.

The body of Rebecca Love was found in a bedroom at the University of Hull halls at The Lawns, Cottingham, East Yorkshire, on 3 May.

Miss Love, 26, from Rotherham, was studying marine biology.

Jason Webster, 20, of Beverley Road, Hull, pleaded not guilty to murder at Hull Crown Court and was remanded in custody until his trial on 24 October.

He is one of the university's second-year history undergraduates.

Mr Webster spoke only to confirm his name and to deny the charge during the 20-minute hearing on Tuesday.
