Masked gang force way into house

Police have appealed for information after up to six masked men forced their way into a house in Carrickfergus.

The gang, who pushed a woman out of the way, damaged the living room of the house in the Birches area and smashed a window in the family's car.

Two children were in the house during the incident late on Sunday night.

Meanwhile, three men, aged 20, 35, 29, have been charged with attempted intimidation following a separate incident in the town on Sunday.

They are due to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

And a 25-year-old man has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon and attempted intimidation following another incident in Carrickfergus last night.

He is due before the same court in the morning.
