A home in Leeds has been sealed off while a man appears in a London court in connection with terror offences. A man from Leeds has appeared in court charged under the Terrorism Act.
The BBC has learnt that Calvert Fletchman, 37, will appear before City of Westminster Magistrates. Police at City of Westminster Magistrates' Court in London said Calvert Fletchman, 37, was accused of having a terrorist handbook.
He has been charged with possessing information likely to be useful to a potential terrorist. He is accused of possessing information of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism.
On 17 August police taped off a home on the corner of Meanwood Road and Oatland Place in Little London, Leeds, but told the BBC it was drugs-related. He was arrested in the Little London area of Leeds on 16 August. He will return to the court on 1 October.
Mr Fletchman was granted bail on condition that he reside at his home address of Oatland Place, Leeds, and report to police every day. He must also not apply for any international travel documents.
