Civilian job cuts at Northern Constabulary confirmed

The final meeting of the Northern Joint Police Board has heard that 31 civilian workers will lose their jobs by the end of next month. The staff have accepted voluntary redundancy or early retirement packages as part of the creation of a new national police service of Scotland. It will officially start operations on 1 April and Northern Constabulary will cease to exist. Northern Joint Police Board will also be wound up. |
