Two rescued from blazing building
(about 1 hour later) | |
Two people have been rescued after a fire broke out in a six-floor building in central London, the London Fire Brigade (LFB) has said.
They were called to the building, which houses a shop and flats, in Wilton Place, Knightsbridge, early on Monday.
The two were rescued from the back of the building and both had suffered the effects of smoke inhalation, LFB said.
About 30 tackled the blaze, which affected half of the fourth floor. The fire is ongoing but under control.
LFB said there was no danger of the fire spreading. Neighbouring properties have not been evacuated.
