Man dies after street disturbance Police make arrest after man dies

A 23-year-old man has died following a disturbance in a North Ayrshire town. A teenager has been arrested after the death of a 23-year-old man, Strathclyde Police have confirmed.
A group of men and women were involved in the incident outside Caley Stores at the junction of Byres Road and Dalry Road in Kilwinning. Robert Lewis, from Kilwinning in Ayrshire, died in Crosshouse Hospital after being found with serious injuries in the town's Byres Road.
Strathclyde Police said that the incident happened at approximately 0310 BST on Saturday. It is thought Mr Lewis was involved in a disturbance with a group of men and women on Byres Road at about 0300 BST on Saturday.
Officers confirmed that an injured man was taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock, but died a short time later. Police said a 19-year-old man was arrested in connection with the death.
