Version 0 of 1.

Police posters are going up in motorway service stations to try and find the killer of a Hells Angel who was shot dead on the M40.

Officers have said they fear the murder of Gerry Tobin, 35, in Warwickshire could lead to revenge attacks.

Det Supt Ken Lawrence said more peripheral Hells Angels may seek retaliation for the death of Mr Tobin, from south-east London.

This weekend flyers are being given out at biking events across the UK.

Detectives have already gone to biker pubs in Warwickshire and Leicestershire, and will be attending biking events, including ones in Birmingham and Northamptonshire, to appeal for information.

'Significant information'

More than 10,000 beer mats with information about the campaign have also gone to more than a hundred biker pubs and cafes.

Mr Tobin was shot near junction 12 on the M40 motorway last Sunday as he rode home from the Bulldog Bash biker festival, held at the Long Marston Airfield, near Stratford-upon-Avon.

Police believe two shots were fired at the biker, one of which hit him in the back of his head, just below his helmet.

Detectives want to trace a green Rover car seen following him

Officers are hunting a green Rover 620, possibly carrying up to three people, seen following Mr Tobin and two friends who were travelling in convoy with him.

Det Supt Lawrence, said Warwickshire Police had received "significant information" about the killing and detectives were following leads in the Midlands and London.

On Friday, Mr Tobin's girlfriend Rebecca Smith, 25, released a statement saying his death left a hole "that can never be filled".

Forensic evidence

Mr Tobin was a Canadian who had been living in the UK for the last 10 years.

Police said forensic evidence from the motorway would continue to be analysed over the weekend.

The police force has received more than 300 calls from people in the UK and abroad about the case.

The London Hells Angels have set up a memorial fund for Mr Tobin and their website has been deluged with messages from around the world.

A biker event planned for next month, the Chop and Rod show at Enfold Lakes, in Surrey, has been postponed as a result of the shooting.
