http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/rss/-/1/hi/scotland/north_east/6045080.stm Version 0 of 1. An investigation is being held after it emerged an Aberdeen-to-Wick plane which was forced to turn back had almost landed with its wheels up. The Eastern Airways flight landed back at Aberdeen Airport on Tuesday, 3 October. No-one was injured. The 19-seater Jetstream 32 had three crew and three passengers on board. The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) is investigating the incident, which is now reported to have caused "substantial" plane damage. The AAIB initial notification reveals of the Wick approach: "Wheels up landing. Aircraft took off again. Aircraft returned to Aberdeen. Substantial damage." An Eastern Airways spokesman said the company wanted to find out what had happened, was co-operating with the inquiry, and could not comment further. The AAIB and Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) confirmed the incident was being investigated. |
