Human trafficking: Four people arrested in Flintshire

North Wales Police said it executed a number of warrants as part of an operation looking into foreign workers in the Deeside area. Those arrested are being questioned at Wrexham police station about gangmaster licensing offences. The Red Cross and Salvation Army have set up centres to help the workers. The operation on Wednesday morning also involved the Serious Organised Crime Agency (Soca) and the Gangmasters Licensing Authority, which regulates the supply of workers to the agricultural, forestry, horticultural and shellfish industries. A spokesman for Soca said the the operation was led by North Wales Police with assistance from a Soca team which specialises in human trafficking and labour exploitation crimes. |
