Six people have been injured and 36 rescued after a chairlift derailed at the Lecht Ski Centre in Aberdeenshire. | |
Emergency services were alerted to the incident, at Corgarff, at about 15:25. | |
Grampian Police said a number of people had been stranded on chairlifts. They were later released. | |
The Scottish Ambulance Service said they had a number of vehicles at the scene. Crews were thought to be treating leg and possible spinal injuries. | |
An air ambulance attended, and also a search and rescue helicopter from the MoD. | |
Grampian Police Mountain Rescue Team was mobilised along with Grampian Fire and Rescue Service. | |
The Lecht Ski Centre is on the A939 between Cockbridge and Tomintoul, on the eastern side of the Cairngorms. | |
