Man in Fisherman's Friends entourage dies in G Live accident | |

A member of the touring party for the Cornwall-based Fisherman's Friends sea shanty group has been killed in an accident at a music venue in Surrey. | |
The group's management company said one of the singers also suffered serious head injuries after a large metal door fell on them at G Live, in Guildford. | |
Police were called to the London Road venue just after 11:45 GMT on Saturday to a report that two men were trapped. | |
The Port Isaac group had been due to perform there that evening. | |
Surrey Police said one man suffered serious injuries to his legs, but was declared dead at the scene. | |
'Tragic death' | |
Darcus Beese, president of the group's label Island Records, said: "Everyone here is shocked by this tragic event, our hopes and prayers go out to the friends and families of those involved." | |
