A man has died and another is seriously injured after a large metal door fell on them at a music venue in Surrey. A member of the touring party for the Cornwall-based Fisherman's Friends sea shanty group has been killed in an accident at a music venue in Surrey.
Police were called to G Live, in London Road, Guildford, shortly after 11:45 GMT on Saturday to a report that two men were trapped underneath it. The group's management company said one of the singers also suffered serious head injuries after a large metal door fell on them at G Live, in Guildford.
One man suffered serious injuries to his legs, but was declared dead at the scene. The other man was taken to hospital with serious head injuries. Police were called to the London Road venue just after 11:45 GMT on Saturday to a report that two men were trapped.
A concert by the Cornwall-based Fisherman's Friends was cancelled. The Port Isaac group had been due to perform there that evening.
Surrey Police said one man suffered serious injuries to his legs, but was declared dead at the scene.

Darcus Beese, president of the group's label Island Records, said: "Everyone here is shocked by this tragic event, our hopes and prayers go out to the friends and families of those involved."
