Four injured after Chelsea 'fire and explosion' Man suffers burns in Chelsea gas explosion

Four people have been injured after a fire and explosion at flats in south-west London. A man has been taken to hospital with a head injury and burns after a gas explosion and fire at a flat in central London.
London Fire Brigade said a gas explosion was believed to have occurred at Pier House in Oakley Street, Chelsea, at about 16:20 GMT. Emergency services were called to Pier House in Oakley Street, Chelsea, at about 16:20 GMT.

A Kensington and Chelsea council spokesman said there had been a gas explosion and said National Grid was investigating the source of a leak.
"Residents have been evacuated to Chelsea Old Town Hall which will remain open until they are allowed back into their homes," the spokesman said.
