A suspected tornado has overturned cars on a major highway and damaged buildings with people inside in the US state of Georgia, police say. A sprawling storm system has brought havoc to a swathe of the US South, leaving two people dead and thousands of households without electricity.
Bartow County Fire Chief Crag Millsap said at least 10 cars had been overturned on Interstate 75. One person died when an apparent twister hit the state of Georgia, overturning cars on a motorway.
