Firefighters have been tackling a major blaze at a garage in the village of Torrance in East Dunbartonshire. Eight buses and six caravans have been destroyed in a fire at a garage in East Dunbartonshire.
Crews were called to premises on Campsie Road at about 20:10. Thirty firefighters tackled the blaze which broke out at the depot in Campsie Road in Torrance at about 20:10.
Strathclyde Fire and Rescue said a number of buses and caravans were alight. Propane cylinders stored at the site exploded due to the heat and nearby residents were evacuated from their homes.
A spokeswoman said that at its height five appliances were in attendance. The incident has since been scaled down but firefighters and investigators remain at the scene. No one was injured. An investigation is underway.
