A man has been arrested after two cyclists were killed on Sunday in a hit-and-run incident involving a car in a village near Bristol. A man has been arrested after two cyclists, a man and a woman, were killed on Sunday in an alleged hit-and-run incident involving a car in a village near Bristol. The crash occurred just before 4pm in Hanham. The driver of the car involved initially abandoned the vehicle and left the scene.
The 38-year-old handed himself into police after initially abandoning his vehicle and leaving the scene of the crash, which took place shortly before 4pm on Lower Hanham Road, Hanham. A spokeswoman for Avon and Somerset police said: "A 38-year-old man who left the scene of the collision has handed himself in at a police station and has been arrested." He was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. Police made an appeal for witnesses to come forward, and to telephone them on 101.

"We would appeal to anyone who witnessed this collision to contact us on 101," he said.
