Thirty-four flood warnings and 200 alerts are in place in England and Wales. Scotland has one flood warning. Thirty-five flood warnings and 220 alerts are in place in England and Wales. Scotland has one flood warning.
Snow continues to cause disruption on higher ground in parts of the country. Forecasters say Sunday will see a mix of sunny spells and blustery showers.
BBC weather forecaster Darren Bett said the heaviest overnight rain would fall in western Scotland and into Cumbria. The Met Office said heavy rain across much of the country, combined with fairly rapid snow melt, was likely to lead to localised surface water and river flooding.
There had been temperatures of up to 9C in parts of the UK on Saturday and the thawing of snow would continue overnight with rain falling on most parts of the UK, he said. The public should be aware of the potential for travel disruption across much of Wales, the southern half of Scotland, and northern and western England, forecasters said.
Spokesman Innes Thomson told BBC News: "The message is that there's wet weather all over the country, we've already get flooded fields, we've got localised flooding, we've got high ground water and we've got spring tides this week coming. Western Scotland and Cumbria saw the heaviest rain on Saturday night.
Environment Agency spokesman Innes Thomson told BBC News: "The message is that there's wet weather all over the country, we've already get flooded fields, we've got localised flooding, we've got high ground water and we've got spring tides this week coming.

Scotland's environment agency, Sepa, meanwhile, href="http://floodline.sepa.org.uk/floodupdates/" >has also issued flood alerts and said the Scottish Borders, and Dumfries and Galloway were particularly at risk of localised surface water flooding. The one flood warning issued by the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (Sepa) is for the Scottish Borders, with a number of flood alerts also in place.
The Met Office's yellow weather warnings caution that heavy overnight rainfall, combined with thawing snow, could lead to localised surface water on Saturday night and into Sunday morning. The BBC weather centre warned of localised flooding in areas affected by wet weather and snow melt, but said much of the rain would clear eastwards through Sunday.
The rest of the weekend would see a mix of sunny spells and blustery showers, forecasters added.
