"But there's nothing to indicate that something has happened in the family home or anything at all to cause them any worry or concern."
He said the children only had about £20 on them and would not be able to travel "very far at all".
There had been a number of sightings of the children by local people between 07:00 and 08:00 GMT, Supt Fraser said.
