Two men from Wigan believed to died after taking contaminated ecstasy tablets have been named by police. Two people have been arrested after the deaths of two men who took potentially contaminated ecstasy tablets in Greater Manchester.
Nineteen-year-old Jordan Chambers died at Oldham Hospital on Sunday. Gareth Ashton, 28, died at Wigan Infirmary on Monday. Jordan Chambers, 19, died at Oldham Hospital on Sunday and Gareth Ashton, 28, died at Wigan Infirmary on Monday.
Police are warning contaminated ecstasy pills could be circulating in the area and other people have been admitted to hospital with similar symptoms. Both men had complained of feeling unwell after taking drugs.
Both men were described by police as "apparently fit young men". Two men aged 33 and 34 have been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in supplying a controlled drug.
The pair were admitted to hospital complaining of feeling unwell after they had taken drugs. Police said post mortem examinations were due to take place on both men later this week.

Police said several others went to hospital on Monday suffering similar symptoms but they have been discharged. A 26-year-old man who died in Liverpool on Sunday is also believed to have taken ecstasy tablets before he collapsed.
