Arcade Fire are selling the bespoke studio in which they recorded Neon Bible and The Suburbs. Any mega-fans who are interested in relocated to Farnham, Quebec, can buy the band's converted church for just $325,000 (£205,000).

"Anybody want to buy a church?" the group tweeted on Friday, pointing followers to a real-estate listing. The notice describes 15,751 sq ft wood-framed building with brick exterior, a large nave, kitchen/dining room, laundry room and three bedrooms. While all of the recording equipment seems to have been removed, the property includes a stove, fridge and dishwasher, pews, and an alarm system.

Arcade Fire purchased Petite Église in 2005, following the success of Funeral. The band gradually transformed it into a professional recording studio, adding mixing boards upstairs and beds in the basement. The cozy, wooded space, 70km southeast of Montreal, was eventually used to record their second and third albums.

"It's important to have a place in a music scene that's kind of a world-class studio where people can record," singer Win Butler said in 2011. "Whenever we haven't been using it we kind of let bands go in there and record for pretty cheap." Acts including Beirut, Wolf Parade, Owen Pallett and Colin Stetson have also used the space.

But all good things must end. According to the real-estate listing, the church's roof now needs to be replaced, which could cost as much as £28,000. Arcade Fire are also understood to have set up a recording studio, within Montreal, where they are making their new album. "They're in with James Murphy on three or so songs, plus Markus Dravs who is a long-time collaborator," manager Scott Rodgers told Music Week in December. "There's around 35 songs … two albums'-worth for sure."

Arcade Fire's last LP, The Suburbs, topped the UK and US album charts, winning best international album at the 2011 Brit awards and album of the year at the Grammys.
